About This Item

The Complete Book of Games is a basic reference book covering the rules and regulations for over 1500 games, including athletic games, party games, card games and children's games. Illustrated with over one hundred diagrams the book is divided into multiple books: Book I – Card Games, Book II – Other Special Equipment Indoor Games, Book III – Party Games for Adults and Juniors, and Book IV – Outdoor Games. It is hard to imagine any game not included!

Condition: Decorative, price clipped dustjacket with 1-1/2" tear at lower back strip, chips and has tears along top and bottom edge with age tanning inside. The bright red cloth spine with black text has a slight amount of creasing and wear along the top and bottom. Boards are in excellent condition with no wear or blemishes. All corners remain sharp with no bumping and the slightest hint of wear. Spine is straight and firm. Hinges are firmly attached to the endpapers. Text block is solid with red on top edge, and all pages are firmly attached. The interior pages are clean with no tears, chips, creases, or any previous owner marks.

Clement Richardson Wood (1888 – 1950) was an American writer, lawyer and political activist that is primarily remembered for his poetry and "Complete Ryming Dictionary" although he wrote for a variety of publications and had several pursuits to help support himself while he wrote. In 1936 he married his second wife, Gloria Goddard (1897 – 1978), who wrote the "Susan Merton series" under the pen name "Louise Logan".
