New York: D. Appleton & Co, 1854. Leather_bound. Good. New York: D. Appleton & Co., 1854. 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches: pp. xx, 372, [2]. Full calf binding with ruled borders, five raised bands with gold gilt decoration to spine and black spine label with title in gold gilt. Marbled edges and endpapers.

Corners bumped, edgewear, small tears at head and tail of spine, label bright, spine decorations dulled. Light wear, rubbing to boards. Previous owner's stamp on upper corner of title page - faded. Some light toning, foxing. Interior clean, unmarked. Binding tight. Thomson [1700-1748] is best nown for his "Seasons" poems and was a contemporary of Alexander Pope and Richard Savage. He also wrote the words for "Rule Brittania" which was put to music by Thomas Arne.
