London: John Slark, , 1885. A handsomely bound set of Percy Bysshe Shelley's complete poetry. Three volumes, octavo (182 x 120 mm). Contemporary prize binding by Mudie, brown morocco, titles in gilt to spines, garland and belt motif with "Cambridge Local Examinations" to front boards, single gilt fillets to boards, gilt tooling to edges and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, gilt edges. Lithographic portrait frontispiece and folding facsimile of Shelley's handwriting in vol. 1, engraved frontispiece depicting Shelley's tomb to vol. 3. Pictorial etched bookplates to front pastedowns and ink ownership inscriptions dated 1889 to front free endpaper versos of Ethelwyn R. Pearson, recording her award for political economy. Extremities a little rubbed, discreet colour restoration, very occasional faint foxing, else internally clean and fresh; an attractive set.
