About This Item
St. Louis: C.V. Mosby, 1977., 1977. First printing. Tall 4to. ix, 156 pp. Illustrated in B & W and in color; printed on coated paper. By the larger-than-life arthroscopy pioneer and inventor. In 1977, arthroscopy was just becoming popular. Johnson was a prolific booster of the procedure and it seemed like every orthopedic surgeon at the time would go to one of Dr. Johnsons courses on the subject. Johnson invented and patented numerous arthroscopic instruments. He founded Instrument Makar company, later sold to Smith & Nephew. Arguably his greatest invention was the arthroscopic shaver. This book is one of the few early ones on the subject, and reflects a time prior to video camera attachments to the scope. Original blue cloth binding. Name front free endpaper else this is a tight, near fine book.. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine.
