Paris: Imprimerie d'e DuVerger, 1852. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Quarto. 329; 37 pages. Hardback bound in original quarter brown leather with brown marbled paper-covered boards. Red leather label on the spine as well as a gilt-stamped emblem of a "V" with scroll work and a banner beneath a crown. The binding shows moderate rubbing and wear and is sound. Hinges quite sturdy and supple. Marbled endpapers and all edges marbled. Prior owner's bookplate on the front pastedown of "Lewis St. Louis." Text is clean. After the main part of the text (first 200 pages) there are over 100 pages of printed facsimile of handwritten pages (original to the publication which appear to show a register of items, values, etc. Pages 277-319 have been printed as 3/4 pages so that the text at the top of page 321 serves as headers for the columns throughout the section.
