About This Item

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1915. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 1915 FIRST PRINTING of First USA Edition (printed with the first UK sheets = nearly identical to the first UK printing with same binding covers). Original tan buckram covers, two original leather title patches spine with gilt lettering, TEG, untrimmed fore-edge and bottom-edge as issued. Overall a better than average condition example of this book that usually suffers condition problems, especially to the title patches and page foxing. This example has clean covers, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, darkening to spine, some scuffing to leather spine patches but no loss (they frequently chip), solid binding, particularly uncommon being without foxing on pages or plates. The book measures 270mm tall x 187mm and has 250 pages +[2], 49 b/w photos, index. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
