New York: Carlton & Lanahan, 1870. With an introduction by Bishop James. "The biographies of Holy Scripture, written under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, constitute one of the most interesting and important parts of the book of books." 285 pp. Brown cloth covers with faded gilt lettering on spine. Cover corners are bumped and rubbed to boards, edges rubbed with areas of boards exposed, light scuffing to cover faces, joints rubbed. Spine ends are torn and missing, exposing areas of the binding. Ex. library with identification numbers and sticker on bottom spine, library bookplate on front inside cover, identification numbers and library stamps on title page, library stamps on a few interior pages, due date list and security sticker on back free endpaper, bar code and pocket envelope on back inside cover. Front hinge broken. Front pages (through page 59) are separated from rest of book, torn at spine or loose. Interior pages have foxing/mold spots throughout, some pages have pencil marks in margin. Book in Fair condition. Scarce title.. Cloth. Fair. Size: Approx. 5 " x 7 1/2". Biography.
