Engraved music and words, 104 pages numbered in ink, some waterstaining to a few leaves. folio (13.5 x 10in) contemp. half red morocco gilt, red leather label in gilt with arms of Lambert Loveday, wear on extremities, reback with red cloth, Lambert Loveday was the son of a London apothecary. He was commissioned into the East India Company in 1778 and rose to the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1837. Presumably these songs would have reminded him of home.
