About This Item
Paris: P. Mongie. Paris, P. Mongie, 1818. First Edition. Unbound. A very good copy. A collection of presumably dark fairy tales; my attempts at reading them have been thwarted by the awkwardness of Google Translate and fragility of the books, so I pass no guarantee but with titles like The Devil's Barn, The Specter of Soissons, The Headless Horseman, and Melusine's Story I think we're on the right lines. Presented without a binding as originally offered for sale; just the gatherings strung together. Those bits of string have held the books together for the last 200 years, and they're still pretty tight, but of course, the book's fragile. Some staining and chipping to the first and final leaves. Appears to collate complete. [10764, Hyraxia Books]. . Very Good. Unbound. 1st Edition. 1818.
