James G. Gregory, 1862. First Edition. hardcover. Very Good. 0x0x0. Folio sized, 11.5x15, bound in brown leather, inset area front and rear, edges and surface rubbed, top 5" of right spine edge tearing, five raised bands on spine worn with wear head/tail of spine. Interesting plaid endpapers, brown stain right edge has a brown stain for about the first third of the book, tissue guard over Cooper's engraving is torn, other two torn and worn at the edges. Sixty-two engravings face an excerpt from the Cooper book it originally appeared in. Quite a stunning collection of engravings, beautifully bound.
