New York: Hurd & Houghton / Townsend / James Gregory, 1867. First Edition in this Format. Hardcover. Book condition is Very Good- in elaborately embossed boards with gilt decorations. Wear at spine base and heal to most volumes, including some minor tearing. A few small bumps and tears to edges of exterior. Minimal foxing/spotting to end papers. A few small chips and tears to edges of a few pages. Small bookseller stamp inside front cover of most volumes, inside rear cover of a few volumes. Owner name and date to front end page of a few volumes. Small label on spine of "Ways of the Hour" reads "32," presumably the final volume of the set received by the original owner. Text is clean and unmarked. Each volume illustrated with steel engravings reproducing the original illustrations of Darley, including in-text illustrations, frontispiece and engraved title-pages. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
