Corinne Day (1962-2010), taking off from Nan Goldin, embodied the 1990s photographic fashion aesthetic defined by natural settings, available light, little or no makeup, and young and seemingly unconcerned models. Her photos of a teenage Kate Moss for The Face set the tone and started the trend, though her work in the same vein later brought her into conflict with the big fashion mags. The aesthetic quickly evolved into what became known as "heroin chic."
