Owners writing top of title page only marks in book, binding tight. Pages free of foxing. With the armorial bookplate on the front paste-down of Sir Robert Pye of Clifton (Fourth Baronette of Pye, 1696-1734). An uncommon edition of this oft printed classical biography of the leaders of Greece and Rome by Cornelius Nepos, Roman biographer (c. 100-24 BC), friend of Cicero and Atticus. Covers show some cracking and scuffing with some loss of leather, hinges are not cracked. Book condition VG-.
