A nice 1953 volume, clean, unmarked, solid, light corner wear, in tan full cloth with red titles. Rough cut. Pages quite clean, no markings. Gently used book. The 1930s in Philadelphia on the corner of Camac and McClellan finds you at the corner store, with Chester Jones as the father confessor for the neighborhood. It is a gathering place for the neighbors as well as the 6 Joneses, an institution--one like that found in many neighborhoods in the 1930s. Life was exciting, full of adventure, romance, crime, births, deaths, marriages, elopements--told with humor and honesty of the problems and triumphs of ordinary people. A gem. 287 pages. 8.5 x 5.6 inches. Doubleday, New York, 1953.
