G. Battaggia, 1775. Print. Very Good. “The Coronation of the Doge on the Scala dei Giganti” is part of a series of 12 depictions of the Doge's ceremonies - the Ducal Feasts. In this, the third in the series, the Doge is being crowned at the top of the Scala dei Giganti, the grand ceremonial staircase of the Doges' Palace. This print dates to between 1766-1775. The print is based on a painting by Canaletto, the print by Giovanni Battista Brustolon, it was printed by G. Battaggia in Venice. The print was professionally cleaned and framed in archival materials. Exposed area measures 18x23", framed 30.5x25.5". All orders packed with care, independent bookseller since 2011
