Quartos. lvi, 664; (xxxvi), 960 pages. SIGNED by editor William S. Powell on the title pages of both volumes. Hardcovers with a blue dust jacket. The jackets show moderate rubbing and wear with some scuffs and brief edge tears and chips. Jackets are sound and complete. A sound set with secure inner hinges and clean text. The half title page in both volumes has been signed by Lindley Butler, a NC historian. Contains several illustrations. Complete 2 volume set. Volume I is dated 1980; Volume II is dated 1981.
