New York: John Wiley & Sons / Chapman Hall. Good in Fair dust jacket. 1932. Second Edition. Hardcover. [x], 248 pp. Frontis plate. Illustrated throughout with cuts and plates. Orange paper dust jacket is quite worn at all edges, dj top of spine torn with some losses, back flap was reattached with heavy brown tape. Book itself is orange cloth which has been protected by the dj and is fairly clean and nice. Interior has old owner name and address, otherwise clean and unmarked. Now protected in Mylar. How to do fashion illustration and costume design with mostly an 1918 esthetic, with occasional 30s updates. Wonderful illustrations. "This lovely book tells the history of costume design and illustration through text, photos and illustrations. It also discusses the difference between costume desing and costume illustration. The author states "it can easily be seen how advantageous it is to any fashion artist, whether designer or illustrator, to have an understanding of both branches to get the best out of either, for they have much in common."; Wiley Technical Series for Vocational and Industrial Schools; 11.1 X 8.4 X 0.7 inches; 248 pages .
