New York: Whittlesey House, 1939. Book. Good. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). First Edition, Fourth Printing.. Fourth Printing of the First Edition, SIGNED by the author, in original dust jacket. Beige cloth boards with red title box, gold lettering on spine. Very light soiling, some fraying at top spine edge and wear to cloth at top corners. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Pages are clean and bright, with clean photo-illustrated endpapers. Signed by author on blank fly leaf: "Bellamy Partridge." Illustrated with drawings by Stephen J. Voorhies, photographs. 317 pages. Dust jacket is clean, not price clipped (2.75 on front inside flap), has edge wear, chips at spine ends, nearly separated at front spine fold; enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Biography of the author's father, who settled in Phelps, NewYork in the late 1860's when he was a young lawyer and the population of the town was less than 1500..
