About This Item
New York: The Platt & Peck Co, 1915. Hardcover. Poor. Oblong quarto in boards over cloth spine. Soiling and wear to boards; ink inscription on inside front board, title page completely disbound (but present), rear board cracked at hinge, deep toning to textblock, majority of illustrations colored in. This unusual children's book contains thirteen illustrations printed in color, with the same illustration reproduced on the facing page for children to color themselves and cut out. The text consists of descriptions of the illustrated scenes, as well as detailed instructions for painting them. All but four of the illustrations have been colored in fairly neatly with crayon, and attempts have been made to be faithful to the suggested color schemes; nothing has been cut out. An interesting piece of children's Western Americana. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall.
