Illustrated endpapers show map of author's misadventures growing up at sea. Although later revealed as a fraud, this "autobiography" of a girl raised at sea was hugely popular in the 1920s. And it is still a wonderful YA adventure story. This copy notes it is the third printing (1929) and 125, 000 copies have been printed to date. Charmingly illustrated by Kurt Wiese in black-and-white. Blue cloth cover, very sun faded around the spine and top of cover, gilt anchor embossed on front. Interior clean and tight in binding. No dust jacket.
