London: Macmillan,. Hardback. xxx, 298pp. Preface by Anne Thackeray Ritchie. Illustrated throughout by Hugh Thomson with frontis, with tissue guard, and numerous further integral drawings. The best known and one of the most collectible titles from the attractive Macmillan's 'Cranford' series. Green cloth with very detailed and pretty gilt flowering plant and tea tray design to design to front and more gilt flowers to spine is has a faint mark to front and more prominent light marks to back which has been splashed at some point. There is also a tiny area of exposed board to the back. Gilt decorations are generally bright. All edges gilt. Some slight rubbing to spine edges and spine ends. Faint scattered foxing to prelims. Binding is tight and square. Good+, sound copy . Hardback. 1891.
