Grampa Dickins (a pen name) was concerned that children needed another friends, as well as a few messages about the world and how to keep safe in it. In pondering these challenges one time, a character came upon him, a small computer, personified, who was a friendly fellow named 'Onetime', with his invisible companion 'Scoop', who loves ice cream. So, two themes are here together. In the first section, readers meet little 'Onetime' while Grampa Dickins narrates his story. In the second section or book, there are a series of in which situations Onetime finds himself, and each time he must choose the safe path. The author encourages children and their caregivers to read together. He was based in Sunapee NH, and this was Grampa Dickins's retirement project.
