About This Item
Torino: Giulio Einaudi Editore, 1962. Christ Stopped at Eboli by Carlo Levi 8vo size orange clothbound hardcover with black titles on spine; 228 ivory laid pages. Text is in Italian. 1962 issue. Carlo Levi (1902 - 1975) was an Italian writer, painter and activist. He is best known for this memoir which was first published in 1945. It describes his time spent in exile in Italy after his arrest as a political activist. In 1979 a movie was based on the book. Bumped head and heel of spine and top corner of front cover. Name on fep. We noted penciled underlining, marginalia or writing on at least 89 pages in the text with the majority of notations consisting of an English translation written above an Italian word in the text. Pages 69-73 have a small spot in the top margin. There are several areas on the covers where the cloth has lifted from the boards, a slightly sunned spine and there is light soil to covers. Dealer Direct Payment Only.. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
