Birch Lane Pr, 1989-09. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good+. Signed. SIGNED, without inscription, by Fenton Johnson on the title page. The volume has some light stains on the bottom pages near the spine. The unclipped dust jacket, while having just minimal edge wear, is moderately age toned and was initially wrapped off center (we left it as is). The jacket is sleeved in mylar. An "Autographed Copy" sticker resides on the front panel.
Synopsis
Crossing the River is a historical fiction novel by British author Caryl Phillips, published in 1993. The Village Voice calls it "a fearless reimagining of the geography and meaning of the African diaspora. " The Boston Globe raves, "Crossing the River bears eloquently chastened testimony to the shattering of black lives."
