About This Item

(London): Severn House, 1982. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. First British edition. Jacket art by Rob Burt. Octavo. 301pp. Fine in rubbed near fine dustwrapper. Inscribed by the author: "To my Marsha and Eddie / Anne McCaffrey." Masha Elkins was an early member of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society, where she met her first husband *Locus* editor Charles N. Brown. She moved to England with her second husband, the British fantasy artist Eddie Jones in the 1970s before later returning to America following their divorce to be an editor for DAW Books. A nice association, particularly as the English edition is seldom found signed.

Synopsis

Crystal Singer (1982) is the first novel in the Crystal Singer series by Anne McCaffrey. The author's notes from Crystal Singer explain the story is based on four stories that were originally published in Roger Elwood's Continuum series. The 1982 version is expanded from these stories. Crystal Singer is about the trials and tribulations of Killashandra Ree in becoming a crystal singer on the planet Ballybran.
