Bernays was a nephew of Sigmund Freud and in recent years has come to be known as 'The Father of Spin'. In his 1965 autobiography, 'Biography of an Idea', Bernays wrote "Goebbels [...] was using my book Crystallizing Public Opinion as a basis for his destructive campaign against the Jews of Germany. This shocked me." viii, [3], 12-218 pp. Sections include: Scope and Functions; The Group and Herd; Technique and Method; Ethical Relations. Prior owner's signature upon front free endpaper otherwise contents unmarked. Somewhat above-average wear and spotting to original navy cloth. Rubbing to gilt lettering upon backstrip which bears faint writing near bottom. Binding intact. Includes replica second edition dust jacket.
