London: Beaumont Books, 1989. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/good. Lower corners of book bumped; upper tip of spine and top edge of jacket show wear with a short closed tear. Clean and unmarked. First printing, no others noted. The fourteenth of fifteeen volumes of this anthology devoted to wine, spirits and food. The articles were contributed by the best of British authors and journalists past and present. This one includes George Orwell, William Makepeace Thackeray, John Julius Norwich, P.G. Wodehouse, Auberon Waugh. There are more. It was begun in 1956 by the journalist Cyril Ray. Kingsley Amis, who knew his way around a wine shop, was a frequent contributor. Every effort is made to ship all books and other items within 24 hours. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible.
