Darien Georgia: Ashantilly Press, 1964. First Edition. . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good +. William G. Haynes, Jr.. VG+/VG+/1st ed./Signed Miss McGarvey was a Member of the Poetry Society of Georgia and submitted poems for publication there for many years. She was considered a talented poet, and this volume was privately printed for her family after her death in 1964 by the Ashantilly Press, a small premeir press on the Georgia Coast. The foreward was written by South Carolina's poet laurate, Archibald Rutledge. The decorations in this handsome book were designed and cut in linoleum by the owner of Ashantilly Press, William G. Haynes, Jr. The book ia in excellent condition; clean, tight and square, the boards are covered in beautiful handmade paper. The book is signed by the author's sisters on the front free endpaer: To Lillian- Jan 1965- Virginia and Mary McGarvey. 81 pages, First Editon. The jacket is clean and has two small closed tears, and several small nicks to the top of jacket. Jacket has been covered with a removable mylar dust jacket. Very Attractive copy, inside and out.
