Leipzig: Zentralantiquariat der DDR, 1979. First edition. Hardcover. vg. Octavo. Unpaginated. Original vellum covered boards with red lettering on cover and spine. With an epilog by Hans Henning. Treatise of the Faust literature starting with the 16th century with a facsimile reprint of the 17 pages of the "Höllenzwang" located in the holdings of the British Library in London. Laid in: Christmas card with woodcut by Werner Gothein on front with envelope, inscribed and signed by Ernst Hueber, German language learning publisher who was instrumental in establishing the German Goethe-Institut in 1955. Text in German. Some minor wear at corners and spine, very small chips. Binding and interior in overall very good condition.
