This work began as a Sorbonne doctoral thesis and was not completed for thirty-six years - World War Two and DHL's increased literary status having intervened. It traces Lawrence's childhood, adolescence and junior manhood in Part One, with a chronological approach to his subsequent works to 1919 and comparison with the works of his contemporaries, and the development of his 'philosopy' taking the greater part of this volume. As packed book weighs 1½kgs, expect slightly higher-than-usual shipping costs (we'll gladly quote you first).
