About This Item
Ladysmith, BC: Self-Published. Good. 2009. First Edition. Paperback. 0980985811 . Signed and dated by author upon title page. "After reading many books, newspapers and mining journals on the history of coal mining on Vancouver Island and after talking to oldtimers, I decided to create a coal miner's daughter who in this story shares memories of being raised in three coal mining communities: Wellington, Extension and Oyster Harbour - later renamed Ladysmith. Some of the experiences the character recalls are based on stories told by miners and mine workers. The factual information woven throughout this story is based on my research of the time period 1896 to 1910." - Author's Message. 36 pages generously illustrated with colour and black and white photos. Clean and unmarked with moderate wear. A quality copy.; 4to; Signed by Author .
