Daddy of ‘Em All by Robert D. (Bob) Hanesworth - 1967: The Story of Cheyenne Frontier Days

Condition: Decorative front and rear, unclipped dustjacket is worn along the top, bottom and corners, has chips and sun fading to the spine and what appears to be some type of water damage to both front and rear front corners (although there is no impact to book). The boards are the original publisher's dark tan cloth with black text to front board and spine. The spine and boards are in excellent condition with all corners sharp with no bumping. Spine is straight with no cracking to the endpapers. Text block is solid and all pages are firmly attached. All interior pages are clean, with no tears, cracks, or previous owner marks. Filled with hundreds of black & white photos it covers the history from 1897 to 1967, including numerous tables of committee assignments and champion winning participants.

Cheyenne Frontier Days is the "World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo and Western Celebration." What began as a one-day cowboy roundup in 1897 is now a 10-day event drawing 200,000 people each year. While there have been many books written about the event, this book by Bob Hanesworth is unique in that he was Secretary for Frontier Days sixteen years thus he had first-hand knowledge of the behind the scenes and the actual celebration itself, plus he shares the accumulation of photos he had collected over the years.
