About This Item
unknown: Rustibus, 1996. First. Hardcover. Very good. Werngren, Nikolas : Dalahorses and Wasa knäckebröd: Svenska kännemärken i Nordamerika ["Dalahorses and Wasa crispbread: Swedish brands in North America"] (Swedish and English Edition). (unknown location) : Rustibus, 1996. First edition/First impression. Size is octavo (8vo), 10.125"/25.5cm h. Bound in publisher's paper over boards with b&w photography. Lacks dust-jacket, likely issued without. Front endpaper map of North America with Swedish-inspired place names; rear endpaper locations in Sweden that inspired them. Publisher's error resulted in lack of pp [1-2], [3-16], 17-88, [89-94] coated pages; endpapers printed to inside pages thus counted in pagination. Preface, acknowl, t-o-c, intro; chapters tracking journey from east to west (Minnesota is the only state that gets its own chapter); b&w photos, text. Condition notes: hardbound in very good plus condition. Moderate wear to boards with several bumps to edges, glossy paper covering to boards worn at tail front spine hinge. Interior unmarked. A striking and actually delightful set of (often amusing) portraits of people in Swedish-inspired communities at the end of the 20th Century. We personally inspect every book we offer.
