First hand account of Balinese music and dance first encountered by the author while in a Japanese prison camp during World War II, and his subsequent efforts to bring a troupe of Balinese dancers through Europe and America. Illustrated with black and white plates from photographs. Dark gray cloth, color illustrated dustjacket. Edges rubbed with a minor bump to the lower edge, good hinges, sound text block, lightly age-toned but clean pages with no names or other markings. The maylr protected dustjacket has some edge rubbing and very minor chips and tears, age-toning to white background of the rear panel, little paper loss.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
