Adam and Charles Black, London, 1954. Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Poor. Illustrator: Photographic. introduction by author. The text is illustrated with copious black-and-white photography. Beige coloured boards with pink coloured embossed titles to the front panel and backstrip. Black-and-white photographic dustwrapper with black colour title to the front panel and backstrip. A small Dan's biography of the English ballerina Moira Shearer. It goes into all her major roles for the Sadler Wells Ballet Company, film roles and other Ballet companies. Part of Dancers of To-Day series:  No. 2 Softening and fading to the backstrip edges and bumping to the lower book corners with rubbing of the lower edges. Significant fading to the backstrip edges, commensurate with loss of dustwrapper. Age toning of the textblock edges. The dustwrapper is in execrable shape. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and there is rubbing and handling marks to the dustwrapper panels. Fading to the backstrip, to the right-hand side of the backstrip and in patches to the rear panel. The major damage has been loss:  there is a piece missing from the top edge measuring 2.25" x 1", with a care extending into the back panel measuring 3.5 ", a large piece missing from the lower dustwrapper edge measuring 7 " x 2", affecting both front and rear dustwrapper. The lower edge of the front dustwrapper is missing and there is creasing along with small splits also present. There is a 2.75" tear to the top right-hand corner of the front panel with a smaller tear to the top dustwrapper edge and a crease that joins both. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 32 pages,.
