Very Good/Good. 8x5x1. 1960 John Murray (London), 5 3/4 x 8 3/4 inches tall black cloth hardcover in publisher's dust jacket, gilt lettering to spine, copiously illustrated with black-and-white photographs, xi, 287 pp. Very slight foxing to page edges and endpapers. Otherwise, a very good to near fine copy - clean, bright and unmarked - in a foxed and edgeworn dust jacket which is nicely preserved and displayed in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. ~M~ [2.0P] The memoirs of English ballerina Lydia Sokolova (1896â1974), focusing on on her years with the Ballets Russes. Sokolova trained at the Stedman Ballet Academy and learned from accomplished dancers including Anna Pavlova and Enrico Cecchetti, and was a prominent member of Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes from 1913 to 1929. After the disbandment of that company, she taught, choreographed and occasionally danced. Her last stage performances were in 1962 at the Royal Opera House, London.
