About This Item

*Daniel Defoe English Men of Letters -Defoe edited by John Morley, Nice old volume in good condition. Originally published in a multi-volume set. This is one volume of that set - Rich Maroon cloth covered boards and gold titling on spine. Originally had a gold wash on top, has faded away, with just a darker base wash left... Deckle edged pages are darkening from age, there are several pages which were never cut apart, it's up to you if you want to cut them or not, alternatively leave the book as originally sold. Unless you're reading it -GREAT OLD Aquarian book, no dust jacket , if you need to read Daniel Devoe for pleasure or for school, it's always nice to have a rich vintage copy closer to the original, rather than a print on demand or a paperback.Daniel Defoe, born Daniel Foe, was an English trader, writer, journalist, pamphleteer and spy. He is most famous for his novel Robinson Crusoe, which is second only to the Bible in its number of translations. Defoe wrote a wide variety of fiction, bringing verisimilitude and dramatic realism to the traditional genre of the domestic conduct book, and producing the novels for which he is now most famous ... English novelist, pamphleteer, and journalist, author of Robinson Crusoe (1719–22) and Moll Flanders-During his lifetime Daniel Defoe produced, at a conservative estimate, 318 publications in many formats and on an extraordinary range of topics. Throughout his lifetime Defoe was a vocal supporter of freedom of religion and the press....English Men of Letters,Defoe by William Minto.
