About This Item
Boston: Wendell Phillips Hall Association, 1892. O'Connell and Phillips were connected by their anti--slavery advocacy. Phillips gave this speech at the O'Connell Centenary in Boston in August of 1875. This is a reprint of the edition first published by Lee & Shepard in 1884. The cover notes that it is "Sold for the Benefit of the Memorial Fund" for 25 cents. Not common. Softcover, in gray paper wraps. Titling and an engraving of Phillips (1811-1854) in black on the front cover. Clean text; 34 pages; very bright and clear. There is some darkening to the covers, which have a previous-owner signature at the top of the front. Light edgewear and a few spots; a sound copy.. Later Printing. Soft Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
