About This Item
4to, original tree calf, gilt lettered spine label, folding map of the United States, by H.S. Tanner, 892 pp. Binding scuffed and worn, large neat repair to map, foxing throughout. While there were a number of editions of this title, the Tanner map only appears in the 1827 installment. The map shows the United Sates from the Atlantic to the eastern part of Texas (referred to as "the "Spanish Province of Texas"), and the Arkansas Territory. States west of Missouri are included in a large Western Territory. All land north of Illinois is part of the North-West Territory.
