London: William Heinemann Ltd, 1947. Cloth. Very Good. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. Original black cloth, spine lettered in silver. Faint mottling, spotting to leading edge. Else, clean and tight. In A. E. Barlow's black dust jacket, lettered in pink: gently rubbed and soiled, chipping to spine ends and top corner of front panel. Still, a pleasing copy of the novel Davies deemed his best, a reworking of Shakespeare's King Lear. Very good/ good+
