About This Item
NY: Harper & Brothers; (1916). First Edition . Hardcover. First issue, with publisher' code "D-Q" on copyright page. Very good with no dust jacket. Blue-green cloth with gilt lettering on spine and front board, and some dark green decorations. Spine and edges of boards are a little darkened, with small splash spots in a few places. Tiny nicks in cloth at top of spine. No names or other markings in book, and hinges are tight. Laid in is a publisher's "bookplate" with a portrait of Howells and a list of his recent books.
