David Balfour is the main character in a few of Stevenson's books written in first person. Therefore he is often mistakenly thought to be the author. Top edge gilt, front and bottom page edges deckled. Previous owner's name, pencil scribbles on endpaper and half-title page, as well as rear pastedown and rear endpaper. Front gutter cracking.
