Circa 1905, 315 x 250 mm, 12½ x 9¾ inches, light green cloth backed card covers with bright coloured illustration, circa 72 pages. 6 picture books in 1, all with brightly coloured illustrations in Brett's characteristic style: A was an Archer; Cinderella; Puss in Boots; 10 Little Black Boys; The 3 Tiny Pigs; and 3 Little Kittens. Each story has a full colour title page and 10 pages of lively brightly coloured illustrations, many full page. Large print text, partly printed on some of the illustrations. Head and tail of spine slightly rubbed, corners slightly worn, piece of surface paper missing on lower cover, 60 x 30 mm deep, (2½" x 1"), shiny black endpapers just slightly bubbled, contents clean and bright. A very good copy of an uncommon book (1 copy on WorldCat). A was an Archer is a wonderful action packed alphabet in full colour, 10 Little Black Boys is unusual in that the boys all wear the turban and dress in Middle Eastern style.
