Norwalk, CT: Easton Press. Near Fine. 1989. Hardcover. Lansing explores the creation of the first atomic bomb and the Manhattan Project that brought it to fruition. This is a full leather black binding with gilt spine and cover lettering and decorations. The Easton Press is known for its quality leather edtions. They feature raised spine bands with four decorated compartments, 22 k gold decorations and all edges are gilt. The end papers are silk moire, and the paper is archival quality with a silk bookmark sewn in. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings. The original "Notes from History" is loosely laid in, and there is no bookmark. Suitable for any collection or giving as a gift.
