The Engineering Institute of Canada. Very Good in Fair dust jacket. ©1957. Hardcover. 442 p. 23 cm. Sound and square binding in cloth-covered boards. Corner tips slightly softened. Prize label on back of the front free endpaper. Two leaves have creasing to their upper fore-corners. Otherwise, the inside pages are clean and unmarked, with light toning. Dust jacket has heavy wear, including large chips and edge tears, creases, rubbing, and small chips. Shelf rubbed. The story of mid-19th century Canadian civil engineers Walter and Francis Shanly, as told by their letters. Known for their work on railways and canals, Walter went on to become a Member of Parliament for Grenville South in the 1860s. .
