This book is about not only the Hercules Mine, but the first forty years of mining in the Coeur d'Alene district of Idaho, and of the Day family, founders of the Hercules. The blurb states "Much of the written record of the Day family and the Hercules mine remains intact. I not only read much of the record but enjoyed the good fortune of reviewing it with Henry Lawrence Day who participated in some events reported in this book."

Well the next owner of this copy can have the good fortune of the dedication on the flyleaf from the self-same Henry Lawrence Day, who writes "to Emma Van Dale The undersigned is a son (and only child) of Harry L. Day, one of the motivating spirits of the group of "prospectors", without much experience nor finances, who banded together, dtermined to "make" a mine! This they did in 1902. I vouch for the authenticity of their story. Henry Lawrence Day 6/6-82" Nice...

This copy is in good condition with some bumping to corners. Text clean and tight. Dustjacket has many chips, creases and cuts. Photographs show actual book for sale.
