New York: International Polygonics, Inc., 1990 Hard cover with dust jacket in a Brodart cover, 204pp. In this tenth, (and last), novel featuring the gritty world of Detective Tony Lonto and his partner Runnion of the Homicide Squad. In what has been described as a well-woven police procedural, the body count begins with the murders of a florist, followed by an off-duty police detective. Lonto struggles to identify the good guys from the bad guys, as members of the city's narcotics squad seem to be implicated. The author (born 1937) is an ex-convict who, among other things, worked in intelligence during the 1950's in Europe, and was president of the prison bonsai club at Stillwater State Prison in Minnesota, where he served three sentences.
