Bound in full tan cloth with black lettering on spine. Leaves are tanned, a condition of the inferior paper stock. In the color-illustrated dust jacket, price intact on front flap. "A keen Stevensonian," (dust jacket copy), Rankin followed Stevenson's wide-flung peregrinations, from Edinburgh to Lower Manhattan to Apia, presenting his current observations on place and culture with excerpts from Stevenson's writing. The result is a lively biography.

The dust jacket is a colorful collage of ephemera designed by Dan Fern. Dust jacket is now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
