The fifth Travis McGee novel, originally published as a massmarket paperback in 1966 and then in hardcover in England in 1967. This is the first American hardcover edition. First US hardcover edition (first printing). A near fine copy in a dust jacket with light wear at the spine ends and a small puncture to the rear panel. This jacket has the date code 175 on the top of the front flap (copies are also known without the code).
Synopsis
A Deadly Shade of Gold (1965) is the fifth novel in the Travis McGee series by John D. MacDonald. The plot revolves around a solid gold Aztec statute, and takes McGee from his home of Florida to Mexico and Los Angeles.
