NB: Front inner hinge has separated from binding and has been secured with invisible sellotape. Covers have light shelfwear. Light foxing to endpapers. Dustjacket condition: Fair, generally shelfworn with light sunning. 239pp. 63 colour and 236 b/w illustrations. One of America's most gifted draughtsmen and a master of composition, Dean Cornwell (1892-1960) began his career as an illustrator in 1914 and worked until his death in 1960. His paintings expressed the aesthetic and social values of each period in which he worked. His illustrations reflected the interests, concerns and dreams that characterised each of five decades. The changes in his style and subject mirrored the changes in American culture in the 20th century. NB: A heavy book - will require extra shipping charges if to be sent outside UK..
